Searching the Internet

  • Good Search  http://www.goodsearch.com.  Earn money for APFED every time you do an internet search by designating APFED as the charity you wish to support.

  • Use www.igive.com or www.buyforcharity.com for all your online purchases, and designate APFED as the charity you are supporting.  A percentage of your purchase will be donated to APFED.
  • EBay users:  Here’s a great way to give, through MissionFish http://www.missionfish.org/NPMMF/nphomepage.jsp?NP_ID=21711 This link will show you all items listed on eBay where the Seller has designated a portion, or all, of the proceeds from the sale of the item to APFED.  If you are a Seller, you can designate a portion of the proceeds to APFED on the items you list…contact us for more details.

Vehicle Donations

  • Donating your vehicle will help support our mission of Education, Awareness and Research of Eosinophilic Disorders.  All you need is a clear title and our representatives will take care of the rest, including pick up, at no cost to you.  Once your vehicle is sold, you will be sent a tax receipt (if the gross proceeds total $500.00 or more), and the sale proceeds will be donated to APFED in your name.

Racing for a Cause Campaign

Racing for a Cause, started by Ricky Springer, a go-kart racer who lives with EC, is an Awareness and Fundraising Campaign to support APFED. Since the campaign began in 2009, over 5 Million people have been educated about eosinophil associated disorders through events and media.  In 2010, Ricky established the Racing for a Cause Team, with 12 racers and 2 race teams representing 3 countries, helping to further create awareness of these diseases.

Edward’s Buddies


APFED's "Edward's Buddies" program will provide new Teddy Bears (as available) to children who suffer with an Eosinophilic Disorder who are going to have a feeding tube placed to provide them with nutrition of a special elemental formula, as treatment for this disease. APFED/ Racing for a Cause represented in the NASCAR Nationwide Series

Jeremy Clements ran the No. 51 APFED / Racing for a Cause Chevrolet in the NASCAR Nationwide Series race at Atlanta Motor Speedway on September 3, 2011.  The car was sponsored through the efforts of RFAC founder Ricky Springer, who enlisted the support of friends, family, and businesses.  APFED would like to thank all those who helped to sponsor the APFED/Racing for a Cause Chevrolet, through their direct sponsorships to Jeremy Clements Racing.  A complete list of those who sponsored the car can be found at RacingforaCause.com.

APFED is very grateful to Jeremy Clements and his entire Team for their support of APFED and Racing for a Cause.  In addition to the Atlanta Race, Jeremy and his Team donated the hood of their car to promote Racing for a Cause at 4 other races this year:  Iowa, Watkins Glen, Montreal and Richmond.

 

Annual Trick or Treat for APFED
For the 9th year running, APFED has hosted it annual Trick or Treat for APFED.  Again this year, children living with eosinophilic disorders raised money on Halloween, rather than collecting candy.  We are so proud of all our Trick or Treaters for making a difference, creating awareness, and supporting APFED.

The Rusty Ball
Thank you to Kara Corra for her involvement in getting APFED listed as a beneficiary of The Rusty Ball, an annual charity event put on by the beloved band the Rusty Griswolds, held on October 22, 2011 in Cincinnati, Ohio.  The event sold out again this year and a lot of support was raised for APFED.

B-I-N-G-O                                                                                                                                                                                                On August 14th  Robin Greer hosted a Longaberger Basket Bingo for APFED with Heidi McKinsey and her family in honor of Heidi’s daughter Carlee, who lives with an eosinophilic disorder.  The event, held in Emigsville, Pa, was a huge success, with Bingo winners going home with great Longaberger Baskets.  APFED would like to thank the McKinsey family for coordinating the event and Robin Greer NLE for donating the proceeds to support APFED.

Macy’s Shop for  a Cause
Again this year, APFED hosted the Macy’s Shop for a Cause.  Passes allowed shoppers discounts and coupons, with 100% of the purchase price benefitting APFED.  Thank you to everyone who purchased the shopping passes!

Thirty One Online Sale
Special Thanks to Jennifer Rath for coordinating an online fundraiser with Thirty One to support APFED. The event was a huge success and all those who made purchases to support APFED are now styling incredible signature Thirty One purses and totes!

Sentsy Candles Online Sale
Trammell hosted a Sentsy Candles online fundraiser in honor of her son Adam, who lives with eosinophilic cystitis.  Thank you to all who participated to support APFED!

Kids Concert with Mr. Ray
Kids (and Adults) in the Mercerville, NJ area had a great time singing and dancing with international children’s recording artist Mr. Ray in June.  The event, hosted by Nancy Phillips, was held to raise awareness of eosinophilic disorders.  Ms. Phillips donated the proceeds from the event to APFED to help fund a research grant to The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia for eosinophil associated disorder research. Special thanks to the community for supporting this event and the sponsors who helped make it possible!

Marlo Motorsports Hosts Awareness Event
Marlo Motorsports and Kyle Mitchell, members of the Racing for a Cause Team, hosted a huge awareness event at Deming Speedway in Everson, Washington on September 24, 2011 to create awareness of eosinophilic disorders.  “Our role as members of the Racing for a Cause Team is to bring awareness”, said Marlo Motorsports.  And that they did!  72 racers ran with the Racing for a Cause stickers on their race cars to show their support of APFED and Racing for a Cause.   Marlo Motorsports and their volunteers passed out education materials to all in attendance at the track’s Championship Night, educating everyone about these diseases and APFED.

EOS Walk
APFED’s EOS Walk, held in conjunction with the Annual Patient Education Conference on July 8, 2011 in Greenville, SC was a huge success.  Over 150 people joined together to create awareness of Eosinophilic Disorders by walking in Cleveland Park.  Together the participants raised over $26,000 to support APFED’s Hope on the Horizon Research Fund.

“Twitter Girls” continue to support APFED
Our “Twitter Girls”, as they have been lovingly dubbed, continued this year to fundraise to support APFED.  Jayme Kushner and her friends raised $1200.00 to support APFED by selling DumDum pops each week at school, donating 10 cents per follower on their “APFEDhelpers” twitter account and collecting spare change.  These girls do not live with an Eosinophilic disorder or know anyone personally who does.  They have taken up our cause and continue to do what they can to educate others about these diseases and support APFED.

Pride of the Parkway
Special Thanks to the Pine View Elementary and Middle School Staff (Land’O’Lakes, Florida), for choosing APFED to be the beneficiary of their Annual Pride of the Parkway kickball tournament, held on May 6th.  The event raised over $1600.00 to support APFED.

2nd Annual Washington Area Eosinophilic Connection Golf Tournament
Again this year the WAEC support group hosted a Golf Tournament to support APFED.  The event, held on May 20th at the South Riding Golf Club, was a great success, raising over $7000.00 to support APFED.  Thanks to Brandon and Vicki Boughton for all the time and effort in hosting this event.

5K for Eosinophilic Disorders 
Janice Chittle hosted the 5K for Eosinophilic Disorders in May in honor of her son William, 17 mos, who has EoE.  The event had a great turnout, raising money to support APFED and drawing attention of the local media, educating those in the community as well.  Thank You to all the event sponsors and participants for making this event such a success!

KE’s Art Show and Bazaar
KE Plunkett, with help from his mother Colleen, hosted his 3rd Annual Art Show and Bazaar this past May in New York.  The annual event includes an art show and sale, with items created by KE, and a bazaar, with games and crafts for families.   This year distributors with AVON and Pampered Chef joined KE, hosting their fundraisers in conjunction with this event.   Elizabeth Gleason also contributed by selling her Lite up for EOS candles at the event and continues to sell her candles and gifts online to support APFED.  More info at can be found on Facebook under “Lite Up for EOS”

Running, Swimming, and Riding to Raise Funds for APFED 
This year APFED is honored to have two incredible EOS fathers, along with their family members and friends, train as well as fundraise to support APFED through their participation in Triathlons.

Logan’s Hope, under the direction of John MacDougall with a team of 10 members, participated in the Pawling Triathlon on June 4th in Pawling, NY.  And Walt Wood, of North Carolina, participated in the  Woodlake Triathlon at Woodlake Country Club in Vass, NC  in May and will be participating in the Pinehurst International Triathlon 2011, which includes a 1500 Meter Swim, 30 Mile Bike Ride and 10K Run in October.  APFED is proud to be represented by these incredible athletes and appreciates their efforts to raise funds to support APFED and educate their communities about eosinophilic disorders.

Yard Sale / Car Wash to benefit APFED
Debra Newman hosted a Yard Sale and Car Wash in Falls Church, Va in May to support APFED.  The community supported the event by donating items to be sold at the yard sale and the local students helped with the Car Wash.  The event, hosted at a local Elementary School, had a great turnout and volunteers passed out educational materials and DumDum pops to educate everyone who came to the event.
